Uses of Celecoxib (Celebrex)
Celecoxib is the generic name for the brand-name medication Celebrex. It is a non-steroid anti-inflammatory (NSAID) used to treat swelling, arthritis, acute pain, and menstrual discomfort.
Unlike other NSAIDs, celecoxib can be taken on an empty stomach, once or twice daily as needed to treat mild to moderate pain. If a stomach upset occurs, then take it after a meal. Common side effects can include nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, heartburn, and gastric ulcers. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking celecoxib, as it can worsen the side effects. Some people who take NSAIDs, including celecoxib, have demonstrated a higher risk for heart attack or stroke.
This medication can also cause stress on the kidneys, so make sure to talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of celecoxib before starting or stopping the medication. Make sure to also inform your doctor and/or pharmacist of all other medications (including over-the-counter drugs and supplements) you are taking in order to prevent drug interactions.

I have DDD in my back as well as the L-5 disc in lower back is pushing up against a nerve. I also have two bad knees, one worse than the other, and this is working much better than Aleve did for the pain. No major issues at least of yet.

My Doctor started me on this drug due to joint pain. My only concern is that I have had unexplained weight gain (only)

Fractured my pelvis in several locations and have 2 screws in my pelvis. Could not walk without a cane and a lot of pain. Also it was very painful to sit. After 24 hours the pain was gone and I can now walk without the cane. Taking 100 mg 2 times a day. Tried Narco but that never really took the pain away. Ibuprofen worked but I started to get sick at night. Having no side effects from this medicine

this has been a wonder drug for me, I have bilateral hip replacements and 1 partial knee replacement, and need another knee replaced. If I don’t take Celebrex everyday, I can’t walk without extreme pain.
