Tadalafil is the generic form of the brand-name medication Cialis. This tablet is most commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), although it can also be used to treat an enlarged prostate.
Some common side effects can include lightheadedness, dizziness, headache, flushing, and nausea. The 2.5mg and 5mg dose are typically taken daily, but the 10mg and 20mg doses are taken on an as-needed basis, with or without food. This tablet can take up to 4 hours to begin working, and the effects can last anywhere between 24 to 72 hours.
Both tadalafil and sildenafil (the generic form of Viagra) are effective treatments for ED; however, some people prefer tadalafil because of its longer duration of action. Make sure to also inform your doctor and/or pharmacist of all other medications (including over-the-counter drugs and supplements) you are taking in order to prevent drug interactions.
You should also speak with your doctor about eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while taking this tablet since it is possible the fruit will interfere with the medication. Lastly, inform your doctor if you are on nitrates, as they cannot be taken together with this tablet.

I have erectile dysfunction related to type 2 diabetes. Erections became steadily weaker, short lived and I wasn’t able to penetrate at all. I’ve been using Cialis 5mgs. for about two years. Now, I can get really hard and we’re back to enjoying sex longer and more frequently. Side effects are minimal; a few muscle aches and an occasional bit of heartburn. Well worth it.

After prostate surgery 6 yrs ago, the Dr. put me on Cialis to help out in bed. It worked ok for 5 yrs, but the last 6 mos. it has done very little for me. Starting having erection trouble due to low T. Started T replacement and they gave me Cialis. It is expensive but it works! It took a few times taking it to see the full effects so don’t give up until you have tried it 2-3 times.

I have been using 5 mg Cialis for about one year and it has been very effective in contoling the symptoms of BPH. It is a shame that I have to fight with my health insurance carriers to have them pay because they think I am using it for ED.
